How to Measure Your Conversion Ratio
When you start to generate your own home business leads from your capture page the next thing you need to
concentrating on is tracking your results. This is really what separates professionals from those that lose
money attempting to generate their own leads.
You want to track your results in a few different ways…
#1 – How many people visit your page compared to how many opt-in and become a lead.
This is known as your "Opt-in ratio" and you get it by dividing the number of opt-ins by the total number of
visitors who visit your website
Opt ins / Total number of visitors = Your Opt in percentage
For example if you had 500 people visit your capture page and 50 people opted in your percentage would be as
follow:
50 / 500 = 0.10 or 10%
#2 – What campaigns are worth the money and which ones are wastes of money.
Here is what I mean by this. Let’s say you are doing two paid advertising campaigns in hopes of generating
leads via your custom capture page.
The first campaign is a $200 Google pay per click search engine campaign and the second one is a
$200 guaranteed traffic campaign. If you let these campaigns run together without separating
them than you will never know which one paid off the best (meaning generated you the most amount of leads
for the money).
So how do you do you track your results?
Well there are several different services that can help you track your advertising. An example of this is
AdMinder. AdMinder is a service that provides you different tracking URL’s for each of your different
marketing campaigns. This is a very valuable tool for online marketing and sells for $19.95 a month.
I would suggest using AdMinder if you end up building your own capture pages from scratch or hire someone to build
them for you. The knowledge it will provide you about your marketing campaigns will help you develop a very
profitable home business.
